Cathy Taub - Stribling & Associates

I welcome the opportunity to explain why being represented by the smarter broker gives my sellers and buyers the competitive advantage.

Experience

Cathy Taub, Executive Vice President and Associate Broker, is one of Manhattan’s most respected real estate professionals and is a consistently top-performing broker at Stribling.

Cathy’s sellers and buyers benefit from her background as a Wall Street attorney: she is a creative dealmaker and problem-solver with a commitment to developing relationships of trust with clients and peers, the perseverance to get the job done no matter what obstacles are presented and years of successful negotiating experience. Passionate about her work, Cathy is known to remain calm in stressful situations and accustomed to advising sophisticated and demanding clients in fast moving, significant transactions—skills that serve her clients well, as real estate deals regularly involve both financial and emotional considerations. Clients uniformly remark that these skills, together with Cathy’s intelligence and diligence, have proven critical to the success of their transactions. Indeed, there are many aspects of Manhattan real estate brokerage that people do not appreciate until they are in the thick of it. Cathy’s clients enjoy a competitive advantage.

A sought-after speaker, Cathy has addressed industry peers on wide-ranging issues and was honored in 2010 as a dealmaker of the year, in recognition of several significant transactions she negotiated in a highly challenging market.

Cathy’s expertise also extends to the early-stage planning, marketing and sales of new condominiums. Her opinion is often sought by developers to assess the viability of new projects, including pricing and advising on floor plans and apartment amenities. Development projects have included ground-up construction of condominiums at 456 West 19th Street, 47 East 91st Street and 245 West 19th Street. Cathy is currently involved with two exciting new downtown residential condominiums.

An honors graduate of Barnard College and the George Washington University Law School, where she was elected an Editor of the Law Journal, Cathy’s tenacity, integrity, discretion and professionalism set a high standard.

Staying on top of market information is one of Cathy’s top priorities.  She is highly knowledgeable of many neighborhoods, including Central Park West, where she lives with her family.

My Approach

"The value of having nearly 13 years as a transactional lawyer can't be underestimated: my skills inform my business on a daily basis. With the typical deal involving millions of dollars, and with critical decisions having to be made quickly, clients trust my judgment—that's the ultimate compliment."

Testimonials

“Your commitment to service, incredible work ethic, high professional standards and last, but certainly not least, excellent advice resulted in the successful (and quick) marketing of our home. In my capacity as head of the Banking Group at Skadden Arps, I have become accustomed to dealing with very dedicated, highly professional and highly motivated attorneys and bankers. You would fit right in here at Skadden. You bring real estate brokerage to a different level and I will recommend you without reservation to my closest friends and best clients.”
Seller of Apt R24A,120 East 87th Street

“As a businessman who has made a career in real estate investments... I have the highest regard and respect for your ethics, integrity and expertise....You achieved an excellent price for us in a challenging market and navigated the cooperative board process like a pro. It is a telling testament to your ability that even the purchaser’s broker complimented your patience and tactful intervention with the board and the attorneys, bringing a transaction to a successful conclusion that, in a less skillful broker’s hands might have failed...”
Seller of 15A, 860 Fifth Avenue

“Since we started working with you, everything happened so smoothly and easily... so welcomed, given the tortured history of the marketing and sale of our apartment.  Your advice was consistently smart and insightful and you earned our trust...I never would have imagined what a difference the right broker can make but our experience proved the truth of the Stribling motto that the right broker does indeed make all the difference!”
Seller of 6C, 136 East 64th Street

“We could not have wished for a better advocate in selling our apartment than you. You were fabulous in every way—steadfast, smart, persistent, protective, artful, diplomatic, forceful, careful and thorough. You gave us great advice about how to show our apartment in the best light....We were thoroughly impressed by your many talents and honestly believe that we would not have sold our apartment were it not for you.”
Seller of 2FG, 40 East 88th Street

“With your able assistance and guidance, we achieved the highest price ever in our building...and a record on a dollar per square foot basis for a non-doorman pre-war building in the Gramercy area. I felt confident that we could rely on your instincts and trust your judgment.”
Seller of 7R, 112 East 19th Street

“We never felt that you were pushing us to offer or make a deal but rather that you were motivated by a desire to do right by us rather than to sell us an apartment and move on to the next customer. Clearly you appreciate the long-term importance of building relationships. You earned our trust.”  Purchaser of 6th Floor, 1067 Fifth Avenue
