A premier broker at Stribling since 1992, Vals has a stellar record representing both buyers and sellers of important properties in the prime downtown and uptown neighborhoods. Her sales include historic townhouses, prewar apartments, lofts and investment properties. Regardless of the price range, she is known for her creative marketing talents in selling properties at a premium for her clients and for her resourcefulness in finding the "absolutely right" home for her customers - without wasting their time or compromising their standards. They appreciate her knowledge, dedication, integrity and superb negotiating skills, key attributes in achieving success in New York's challenging real estate market.
Vals, a true New Yorker, brings a unique perspective to all her real estate endeavors. Her sense of history, creative flair and strong sense of style were nurtured early through practical hands-on experience and her love of the arts. She grew up in Charles Ives' Upper East Side townhouse and raised her children in a classic Carnegie Hill prewar penthouse, while working simultaneously as an art dealer and pursuing her graduate studies in art history. The first woman director of education at Young Presidents' Organization, she was also founding director of Sotheby's Institute, N.A., where she created graduate-level programs on American and European art and architecture. Since then, she has renovated two downtown lofts and is in the process of restoring her historic 1831 home in Ulster County.
